Best Chinese food we have had!. We have had Chinese food all over the world, including China, Hong Kong, New York and San Francisco.......this is by far the best we have had! We enjoyed salt & pepper scallops, Minced chicken in lettuce leaves, tiger prawns, honey beef with garlic, fried rice and pea shoots with garlic. Each dish was excellent....beautifully prepared, flavored perfectly.......quality of the ingredients was outstanding.

Go there!

great food at tai pan. Tai pan did not disappoint! I went on the recommendation of a foodie friend, and was very happy with both my meal and the surprisingly upscale decor. The restaurant, which is only a few months old, seems more like something you would expect to have to travel up to the city to encounter - not your usual chinese restaurant. We had a few meat dishes - the basil chicken and the spare ribs (both were very good), as well as the special seafood soup. The fried rice is unlike any other I have tasted - very light, and made with egg whites. I also tried a few recommendations I wouldn't have normally ordered: braised oxtail and a special seabass. Both were delicious! I'm glad that when my family comes back to town I have a great upscale option to take them to that's local.

Try Tai pan before everyone else catches on. I tried Tai Pan after hearing that it opened in the old Flower lounge space, and was knocked out! This is one of the nicest chinese restaurants I have been in, with very elegant decor. The food is excellent, and the owners are extremely affable. I recommend the sticky spare ribs, stir fried green beans and signature lobster dish. Another surprise was the extensive wine list - unusual for a chinese restaurant. This is a new hidden gem - I would try it before everyone discovers it!
