Caring & Knowlegable, not your usual Chiropractor !
by mmlam at Citysearch
I started seeing Dr. Osgood last October. I was having neck & shoulder pains and occasional headaches from working long hours in front of computer. During the initial exam, Dr. Osgood educated me extensively on how poor posture caused most of my problems and long term effects if it is not corrected . Immediately you can tell she is not the usual Chiropractor who only wants to just go through sessions of treatments and adjustments. Her biggest thing is in educating her patients on how to care for your overall long term health. At each session, she would ask if I have developed any new pains or if anything has happened since last session that might have affected my body. Most importantly, she always reminds me the importance of daily stretching. Honestly, it was hard to take a break every couple hours or so to do stretching but it really helped tremendously if you can do it. I have to say Dr. Osgood has given me a new perspective on how to care for my own body. Now, I am a religious believer in having the right computer equipement for my work station and doing my daily stretching exercise. Most importantly, I know for sure that my body will be more flexible and I will be able to enjoy life more when I get older because I have learned to care for it.
Thanks, Dr. Osgood !!!
The Proof Is In The Pudding......

My husband and I call her "Dr. Osgreat" because of her ability to deliver on her promises.
I have known Dr. Osgood for many years professionally as I owned a Personal Training Company and my business partner and I referred her clients all the time because we believed in her methodology. It wasn't until I was able to make my own personal pain a priority that I found myself in her office for an injury that happened in my teens (15 years ago). I had begun to accept that a reverse curvature in my neck was permanent, and that the pain involved and premature arthritus and bone spurs which were devopling were just something to get used to. Until I woke up one day in January of '07 and couldn't move.
Dr. Osgood has the strength to look you in the face and not tell you what you want to hear, but what you need to know, and for that she has my undying respect and gratitude. She asked me if I wanted my husband to be feeding me soup in a wheelchair when I was 60 because she was convinced that my neck would eventually fuse together and I would not be able to move my head. Nothing like the truth to wake a person up out of their slumber!
If you are expecting any results to be immediate (as in the comment left below) then you are looking for a miracle, not preventative care. As far as I know, there were no immediate results for an issue that took half a lifetime to develop, but I guess it is human nature in all of us to look for the easy way out.
In a matter of three months, the reverse curvature is now back to a normal range, my posture is restored, the tingling and numbing sensation in my hands has dissapeared, and I can sleep again. I consider that a miracle- it doesn't matter how long it took.
Top Level Chiropractor

I've been to many chiropractors over four decades, and Dr. Lucy Osgood is probably the best one I've found. She is very knowledgeable about so many things -- posture, exercise, sports injuries, using leverage, anatomy, body chemistry, working out, arthritis, various injuries, weight loss, traction, and on and on.
She's one of the few chiropractors who has highly effective traction equipment for retraining the curves of one's back and neck. I especially like the traction sessions, because they help the chiropractic adjustments to last longer. If a chiropractor adjusts your back, but the tendons, ligaments, or muscles are too short or too long from years of poor posture or incorrect use, the adjustment can't last long, because the tendons/ligaments/muscles pull your bones out of alignment, and back to their old incorrect position. Tractioning resets the soft tissues to their proper placement, which in turn hold our bones in their proper places.
Dr. Osgood takes periodic x-rays so I can see for myself what progress has been made. I used to get frequent headaches; now I rarely get a headache. My back pain is much less, and perhaps most importantly, further deterioriation is being prevented. I won't develop severe arthritis and a bent back, which I was headed for.
not for acute pain but can be a help in a long run

she seems to have enough knowledge to solve my back problem
yes, she's big on multiple visits in a week for a simple and short session
which i did not like it and didn't help much for the immediate pain i was having on my back.
if you are ok with what i said above, you can try this place and be patient.
i think she can help you with your problem in a long run.
just be patient with your pain and money spent.
for those who wants to ease your acute pain,
first try sports medicine doctor(with M.D)s or other physical therapists.

I've seen a number of chiropractors over the past 10 years due to a bike accident which left almost everything out of whack. It's taken years to unravel the puzzle. Everyone has helped, but I really have to give Lucy super high marks -- Dr. Lucy Osgood is wonderful! She is very capable, very thorough, and very knowledgeable. Other chiropractors tended to focus on their one area of interest of the spine and lost the whole picture; initially they helped with pain, but we made no lasting progress. With Lucy, we re-evaluate the whole system with each visit -- posture, hips, pelvis, everything back, shoulders, neck -- all without extra charges, I should add (it seems common practice to charge more if the doctor looks at both the low back and the upper back rather than a fee for the whole. I don't know the details but like it when it seems reasonable). She has addressed and improved so many issues related to my spine and posture that other Chiropractors never even noticed.
Most importantly, I'm really healing. I've finally found someone who is committed to my vision and hope of regaining my best form and I'm very grateful.
I should mention that she is big on multiple visits per week, but that makes sense to me and is probably a big part of why I'm showing so much progress.
I have no reservations in recommending her services.
- Pros: great service with lasting results
- Cons: wish I could schedule appointment before work
