When I started off to look for an institute to get training in QA, I went through few institutes in the Bay Area. I had few considerations – Course Content, Reviews on the institute, Placement facility etc. After a considerable amount of self-analysis and discussion with friends, I voted for Portnov Computer School. Looking back, I can now confidently say, I did a great choice!

The program covers all the latest technologies that are expected by the industry from a QA professional. Portnov staff members are very knowledgeable and helpful. One of the impressive points about Portnov is that they lead the path in a structured way from training to interview preparation and eventually the placement! They enable us to undergo mock interview and clearance interview that have a bar set and all candidates are expected to meet the bar before they go on actual interviews. This hardening phase is very beneficial and this phase strengthens confidence in students. Olga K and Olga C did a splendid job in ensuring that the students are ready to face the real world.

Mikhail, Lana and Yan gave us a very good exposure to QA processes. Sophia is an amazing coordinator. She precisely maps the needs of students with the job requirements from prospective employers. Above all, she is very committed and extremely professional.

I highly recommend Portnov Computer School for all those who aim to become a great Software QA professional.

I joined Portnov School in Nov 2012. I got done with my intense classes and studies on Feb 15th and by first week of march I got my internship offer. Portnov School works really hard in providing with quality training and placement. I cant thank Sofia enough for really being so committed on placing me. She also considers students' location preferences. I would highly recommend Portnov Computer School

When I joined Portnov Computer School I was completely lost and frustrated. But after talking to the instructors I found much needed encouragement and support. Since then I have never looked back. To me it was the best decision of my life and I will always be thankful to Portnov Computer School Staff.

Mikhail, Sofi,Olga K,Olga C, and the staff was always there for me. I can't thank you enough to Olga. C for her invaluable support. It was her who told me to stop crying and buck up. Nothing is easy in life.

Courses are designed to give you the core of the SQA so when you go to interview you don't feel at lost. You must be 100% committed, otherwise you will have difficulties to grasp the concepts. But one thing for sure once you start getting the process then it becomes easier. Teachers are actually in the field, working as QA, so the input I got was very valuable.

I highly recommend to any one who is thinking to get in IT to go the school. At least spent few hours in one of the Olga's session and get the feel of it. Trust me it is worth it.

School has given me the right kind of education, and for that I will be thankful for the rest of my life.

Portnov has THE BEST and FASTEST QA program to get you into this filed. Period.

Computer background is helpful, as you can imaging (because you will be working in the computer softeare field), but absolutely not necessary. There are many many students from all kinds of background, English, Engineering, Literature, high school...you name it. The school teaches you the basic staff you will need to be a successful QA. The classes are focused on three major areas. First is testing theory and practice, such as software QA, testing, testing planning, bug reporting etc, it get you ready as a QA professional. The second is all kinds of Computer knowledge, such as internet, html/css, javascript, Perl, Selenium, Quick Test Pro. This get you ready to work in the Silicon Valley. The third area is projects. Students work on real work commercial products in their projects. These products are or will be on the market. They are real projects, not the course project you do in community college. This get you ready for real world work.

The best part of the program is the internship, where the school sends you to companies in the area. This is almost guaranteed. Many students turn full time after their internship, some of them found better job and move forward

The staff in the school is really nice, like the family for students. Everyone is involved in teaching the students useful stuff and help them find job.

I just started my internship with a company in Sunnyvale, and my boss has only one word for the interns in week one: “Impressed!” . Portnov School has prepared us so well that we started cracking down bugs, solving problems since day one, and get our product ready for release soon. Thank you Portnov School!

I decided to join QA program at Portnov School after a long break from my last technical IT position. In my mind the most valuable aspect of their program was a guaranteed internship placement, which no other school offered. I took their standard QA Flex program and started going to internship interviews right at the completion of the courses. After only few attempts, I was able to score not just an internship but a full time QA Engineer position with a pretty decent salary!

The school offers variety of courses and has a very helpful staff, which will go out of their way to help you. For best results, however, students must invest a lot of their own time to study the material. That would greatly help them down the road. I would like to say special thanks to Sophia, who was patient with me all the way through the interviewing process and treated me like one of her family. I would also like to thank Ellie for a great experience I had in her Selenium class.

Life threw some punches at me, but Portnov School let me get back on my feet. Thank you!

When I started my program at Portnov, I decided to save my review for this special day, the day I signed my first contract.

I started in the Summer. In October I got a 12-week internship. Today I started working for a company that produces risk management software.for Global 5000 enterprises.

This school gives you everything to start out as a software tester even if you don't have any IT background. I am, for instance, a former media professional.

The program is very short, so prepare to study a lot! Don't relay on in-class activities. Learn on your own, search, explore - do your homework. You'll be given all the necessary resources for that.

You'll love this school and its staff: your instructors - Olga C., Olga K. and Mikhail; Galina, who will be helping you with your internship resume; Sofia, who - (be sure!) - will place you for an internship. When your program is over, you won't want to leave:)

I am still at Portnov, taking two advanced automation classes. I am also taking online programming classes at city college of San Francisco since I am planning on being an automation engineer. It is the Portnov school that helped me to define my long-term career goal.

I started Portnov School in September 2012. The classes were very intense to cover lot of information in short time. I wanted to change my career and to start to work in IT field. The school does it's job perfectly. After, I finished course, they send me to couple interviews, and the third one takes me. I am very happy that I came to school, because it helps me to get closer to what I want. Thank you Portnov School in general, and to every employee in particular.

I won a green card and at first I tried to find a job as an controls engineer ( I was an controls engineer in Russia) but it was difficult, there are not so many vacancies in this field and licenses are required. So I decided to turn my career in other direction. As I already was familiar with some programming basics I decided to turn my career into IT field.

A friend of mine already graduated from Portnov Computer School at that time so I had an example of successful employment. The school gives unique set of knowledge and provide an internship which gave me real work experience in the USA. I was studying for 2 months as a full-time student and then got 3-month internship program. Solid combination of theoretical and practical knowledge was enough to find a job. Full time classes also helped me to improve my English.

Portnov Computer School gave me a unique chance of adaptation in the USA.

If you want to change your career, Portnov Computer School is the best way to do it. They have great classes and instructors that help you to start off your new career on the right path. The staff is wonderful, they work hard to help you to succeed and they truly care for each individual student.
