haven't been here yet. ok, this is the strangest thing. how can anybody rely on these reviews if ANYBODY can really sign up and register for this site to write a review. i haven't been to this place, but am planning on making an appointment. what is the price any insight?

Love my color & cut. Cony has been doing my hair for the past 6 years. I love her co'z she's exceptional in her skills and she pays attention to details. Cony also likes to adjust my color & cut through seasons change . My hair always look beautiful. I get compliments all the time.

Blond highlights - the absolute best !. ...so in an effort to grow as a person - embrace sharing - yada yada yada ... even if it means that it may be even more difficult to get an appointment for my own 'beautification' ... Star really is the best !

Great Haircut & color...excellent customer service. I recently moved to Palo Alto from East Coast. A friend of mine referred me to see Cony Kwan at DS Newman Salon. I was nervous about seeing a new stylist. Cony was so sweet & patience with me & we had a very through consultation before the actual service. My color turned out beautiful & the haircut was very stylish as well. 2 people stopped me at the mall to asked where i got my hair done. So i decided to write an review online. I 'm very glad I found her.

Great Hair Stylist for Curly Hair. I have always struggled to find a stylist that was able to cut my long curly hair. Most cut it way too short and I end up looking like a chia pet:) That was until I found Dontay. He never cuts it too short and gives me beautiful long layers. He is the only one that I have trusted to cut my hair for years. My mom also goes to DS Newman salon and has raved about how well Star colors her hair.

Best Salon Anywhere. This group of people are so wonderful! From the friendly receptionist to the staff, the minute you walk thru the door you are totally taken care of. The salon is the most beautiful salon and very relaxing. I have seen Dontay (cut) & Starr (color) as well as Amy (color) from time to time and have had amazing hair every time that I leave. Most importantly I can style it at home too. I have sent many of my friends and family here and eveyone agrees... These guys are the best and you wont find anyone better!

Monica is excellent cutting hair.. I am writing exclusively about Monica's expertise in cutting hair. I followed her to DS Newman where I went to see her for a couple of times before moving out of the state, and therefore don't feel I can give the salon a honest review, one way or the other.

Monica, though is marvelous at her craft and very patient, detail-oriented and very good at listening what the client desires to accomplish. I just wish I could be seeing her as frequently as I used to..

Big disappointment. The location is terrible. There are so many better places in Palo Alto. And these guys act like they are something special. But they have nothing to show for it. Can't figure out how they think they are going to be successful. They have way too much competition and a terrible attitude. Not sure they even know what they are doing, much less how to keep a customer. Terrible customer service.

Worst hair salon in Palo Alto. This place is terrible! It's located in a total dump in some tired strip mall in South Palo Alto. It's impossible to locate. When you do, they have major attitude (particularly some bleached-blonde woman named Starr - who would want her hair?). They have NO idea how to treat high-end customers, and they obviously don't have any. Don't expect their phone number to be in service long....
