Poisoned by their Medium Rare Burger!
by Member 293 at Citysearch
Horrible experience. For one they charge extra just for things like bacon or avocado ($1 each!) So that my burger alone ended up costing over $10. The nightmarish part actually began when I LEFT The Counter. The next morning (stretching all day and night long!) I had the worst vomiting and diarrhea of my life. I got food poisoning from the medium rare burger! I will never eat there again.
Lousy rude manager Jim

My boyfriend at the time who is a Palo Alto Wuppie, said that other such PA folks raved over this place. We had gone once before and the service was lousy . A year later we decided to give it another try...they were not as crowded. The manager Jim, bald headed guy was indifferent and inattentive. He asked how my food was but walked away when I was talking and my weak boyfriend just didn't know what to do. My burger took forever to get to the table, and when I got it , the things I ordered on it were not there. I will never eat there or at any other Counter establishment again. Plus after all that crap, it was expensive. Go figure, all this in Palo Alto.
- Pros: good sweet potato fries
- Cons: If you complain to a mgr and he's an idiot than what?
Great Fries
by EmmaG at Citysearch
I don't order burgers here anymore because no matter how cooked I've asked them to be, they're so pink I'm slightly scared to eat them.
I am however hooked on their sweet potato fries and sauce... love it!
- Pros: sweet potato fries
- Cons: undercooked burgers
A big letdown
by rebop2009 at Citysearch
Tried this when they first opened and was not impressed. Decided to give it a second try today.
Onion "strings" arrived fully 20 minutes before the burger, even though it seemed like a full kitchen staff and they were not that busy. Grilled onions are more sauteed than grilled on the burger and no way they can stay on the bun. Runny, for lack of better term. The vanilla shake had another flavor in it as if it was made on a machine that had just made a licorice shake.
And then, although service persons were on their cell phones and in clear view, I had to flag someone to take my credit card to check out.
1/3rd pound burger, vanilla shake and onion "strings" came to $20. Consider the above and this was my last visit.
- Cons: Quality and service
Best Chili Ch.Fries ever, VERY expensive burgers
by CCFLOVER at Citysearch
My first time, taken by a regular customer. I LOVE a great hamburger but this was not it. Meat quality great, bun and additions poor quality and tasteless. Roasted peppers/ pickle chips tasted the same, like they had been soaked in water.
Very over priced. Two burgers, two cokes, one sweet potato frie and one chili cheese fries (both sides huge) cost ~35.00. Not worth it. Go to Kirks Steakburgers!
- Pros: great sides, good quality meat
- Cons: boring hamburger in general
