Blah. My wife and I went out of our way to visit Mexico Lindo, because I saw that it was ranked #1 for Mexican food on the BOC list. We had high hopes and the food fell short. We each had a cheese enchilada. The cheese wasn't melted and my wife didn't even finish hers because she didn?t like the sauce. I didn?t like it either. Next, we tried their chicken fajitas. I?ve bought pre-made fajitas from Safeway that were better. The fajitas came with rice that was all clumped together and it tasted sweet?! We also had chips with salsa and guacamole. Even they were a disappointment. The chips didn?t have any salt and the salsa was too spicy. The guacamole was runny, and it had an overpowering citrus flavor. We threw the salsa and guacamole away after taking a bite of each. I think the best part was the refried beans and tortillas, but they alone weren't worth the drive. My wife liked their flan, but unfortunately they topped it with whip cream which melted in the car and ended up looking more like milk once we got it home. I?ll skip this place and head to one of the Tlaquepaque locations the next time I?m in the area.
Good food, colorful atmosphere. New to the neighborhood and thought we would try some authentic Mexican food (after having a good experience at the Race St. Mexico Lindo location). Hostess seemed a little grumpy, but table service was very quick. Food was good, large portions, delicious spicy hot salsa and chips. Decor was really cute, handpainted murals on walls and other colorful touches.
