What People Are Saying About A Bellagio

In Short – Don't expect red sauce and meatballs at this white-tablecloth-and-candlelit restaurant. Yes, pastas are the star, but in the form of gnocchi in Gorgonzola sauce and whole-grain pizzocheri with cabbage and potatoes. Entrees range from osso buco to scallops in a garlic white wine sauce. The dining experience is casual, just the kind of setting for nursing a glass of wine between courses.

Wonderful Italian experience with great atmosphere and customer service!

by pupule7ca at Citysearch

My wife and I went there for the first time and fell in love with the place. The atmosphere is romantic and the food is excellent - best Italian cuisine around. The service was attentive and friendly. The gnocchi was just perfect and full of flavor and my pasta with shellfish was very light with a rich tomato broth with the shellfish cooked to perfection. This will be our romantic date get away from now on!

Good place to decompress from your troubles or work

by dougbattaglia at Citysearch

My wife and I love this place. We are "regulars" and have been for many years. The food is excellant and Pino always comes up with his "specials" to surprise his friends. The service we have always considered one of the top reasons for repeating our visits and we have a very at home feeling there. I can say, without reservation, it is one of my favorite places after a long day or a special occasion. You will find it as special as I do I am certain. Grazie.

This restaurant has seen better days

by olafh at Citysearch

The food, atmosphere and service were significantly better a couple of years ago. Menu changes, price changes and an overall change in the "vibe" of A Bellagio has turned it into a restaurant that I no longer visit. Maybe they were trying to compete with the other restaurants on Campbell Avenue. Maybe they no longer care. All I know is that I have taken my business elsewhere.

  • Pros: None that I can think of
  • Cons: High prices, limited menu selection

Best Italian food you'll find at a restaurant!!!!!!!!!

by jc40895124 at Citysearch

I'm proud to be italian, but have a hard time finding a restaurant outside of Grandpa's house that makes it as good as he does. This place does it. It is by far the best Italian food I haven't eaten at a restaurant, and has some fierce competition with grandpa. I just happen to try it a couple years ago with my father and we've been regulars ever since. I feel like I've known the owner since childhood, he is an amazing guy. If your looking for authentic italian, not that italian american junk, this is the place! You won't be sorry.

  • Pros: Everything about this place
  • Cons: none

Authentic Italian cuisine prepared with style...one of the best Silicon Valley restaurants

by joeyditali at Citysearch

Like many World Cuisines, Italian cooking features "authentic" dishes as well as those created in America for American tastes. Chicken Parmigiana? It may be tasty, but it's not authentic Italian. In Italy, pasta is cooked "al dente" (literally, "to the tooth," with a slightly firmer texture at the center), and it is not smothered in red sauce. Once you've tried Fileto Allo Speck E Zola (Fillet of beef wrapped in speck and gorgonzola cheese) and Spaghetti Bellagio (Spaghetti, parmesan cheese, oregano, marinara, egg, prosciutto in cream sauce), you'll want to sample everything on the restaurant's tempting menu. Seafood lovers will appreciate the freshness of the Spaghetti all Scoglio (Pasta tossed with mussels, clams and prawns, sauteed in olive oil and garlic-based white wine marinara sauce, with a sprinkle of fresh chopped parsley). The Insalata di Spinaci (Spinach Salad) is far above the ordinary, featuring Baby spinach, ribbons of browned pancetta topped with crumbled gorgonzola cheese in A Bellagio's house dressing. Owner Pino Spanu has invested considerable effort into creating a relaxing, visually appealing restaurant to showcase his culinary creations. He uses Angus beef and meats that are free of chemicals and hormones, as well as the freshest organic produce. In addition to soups, salads, antipasti and entrees, he offers a diverse list of Italian and American wines, tempting desserts such as tiramisu and the Italian version of flan, "Crema Catlana," plus a choice of Aperitifs and Espresso drinks to finish your meal. He's made several major upgrades to the interior of the restaurant in 2006 and continues to improve what is already a wonderful experience for Silicon Valley diners who seek a memorable (and delicious) experience.

  • Pros: Authentic Italian cuisine, fresh quality ingredients, an inviting atmosphere
  • Cons: None
