Excellent service. very satisfied. Would recommend to others.
We were recommended to Daniel by the Mexican Consulate in San Jose. My stepdaughter, who had a green card, was about to be deported. We found Daniel to be responsive, organized and professional. He explained the various options, what was likely to happen at each stage and how we should address the issues. Throughout he was meticulous and thorough.
Just as important he was empathetic to our situation and understood the stress we were under, his reassuring manner was much appreciated.
He also showed professionalism and preparedness in court and established a rapport with the immigration judge that I believe helped enormously in the eventual successful disposition of the case.
A minor issue occurred where we felt he could have briefed us more thoroughly - we had never been to a detention center before and were unaware that common objects such as a belt or watch were forbidden, this combined with an obnoxious security guard led to a lot of stress as we tried to gain admission into the hearing.
Overall we were very satisfied with his service and would recommend him unreservedly
Outstanding!. I wanted to take a moment to thank Mr. Shanfield and his staff for handling my immigration matter. I'd recommend Mr. Shanfield's services for everyone who is seeking immigration advise.
Finally my citizenship!. Daniel was a total lifesaver on my citizenship application. I thought my case was easy, but Daniel warned me that there could be issues at my INS interview because of my past divorce and custody arrangement. Daniel knew what documents I needed to take to the INS interview, even though the application instructions didn’t ask for it. Even before the interview, Daniel and I spoke to prepare me for what questions to expect and how the officers handle these interviews. Thanks to Daniel, my interview at INS was totally smooth. The INS officer was so shocked that I had the extra paperwork ready to turn in, and asked how I knew I needed it. I told him what Daniel said. Now my application will be approved with no delays, since I didn’t need to mail in any extra documents to INS after my interview. After too many years with just my green card, I’m now excited to go to my swear-in ceremony. Daniel and his staff were also very friendly and ready to answer all of my questions. I totally recommend Daniel!
Immigraion Law Expert. Daniel is unique among immigration attorneys for his passion and unwavering commitment to winning the most complex criminal removal cases for his clients. He is trust-worthy and a zealous advocate. I recommend his services.
Danield Shanfield, Esq.. I write to respond to Raghu1's attacks on Daniel Shanfield. I am a law-school classmate of Daniel as well as a close friend of his for more than 15 years. The idea that Daniel is motivated solely by money is laughably wrong. Being an immigrants'-rights attorney is not the way to wealth for a lawyer. Daniel spent many years working with dedication and passion on immigration-law matters for relatively meager pay (and in small office space, to boot). Daniel has been successful for all the right reasons -- talent, tenacity and hard work. Daniel is a caring, highly ethical person who will not and does not take advantage of law clients (or anyone else). Daniel is a top-notch pick for an immigration attorney.
Best immigration lawyer by far.
I had an immigration problem and conducted an in-depth search for an immigration attorney to represent me and came across Daniel Shanfield.
From his background info available on the web - UCLA undergrad, UC Berkeley Boalt Hall law school - I knew that Daniel was smart. Meeting him in person, I immediately felt that he had the other element I was looking for in the attorney who was going to represent me - the passion and commitment to his client.
I had met three other attorneys before finding Daniel - all with fine reputations in the SF Bay Area - and they had all fallen short of my expectations. I found one to be too concerned about collecting fees at every juncture and the other two were too pessimistic about my case - who needs pessimism!
In the initial consultation with Daniel, based on the experience with the other attorneys, I thought that Daniel's assessment of the case was too too hopeful. But he explained his assessment based on his past experience with his clients and also explained the strategy he was going to follow with my case. The other attorneys never explained any strategy they would follow. The case proceeded exactly as he had initially outlined - both in terms of the timeline and the strategy, and the substantive outcome - a complete victory for me.
I found his fees to be very competitive, and I know that the complexity of my case required him and his staff to spend more hours than anticipated by his agreed fee but I never received any additional request for payment or complaints from him for the extra time spent.
I recommend Daniel without any reservations. He combines intelligence, commitment, passion, and care. On top of it, he also has a fine sense of humor.
In my line of work, I've worked with literally hundreds of attorneys throughout the US - not just immigration attorneys. Daniel definitely ranks with the best of them.
Money Money ... That's ALL he cares about.
Well, i'll be honest with you. He is knowledgeable and has a nice office, but he is ONLY ABOUT THE MONEY. Daniel is just so much into money that doesn't see his clients at ALL...Bottom line, if you are looking for one of those attorneys that care for you, understand your situation, and work with you to the very end, he is definitely, definitely, NOT the one. But if you are looking for a nice and fancy office and some pretty girl come to greet you (which you'll be paying for it), he could be a candidate.
This lawyer is the type that only and only cares about the money that goes into his pocket and even if that means leaving you half-way there...
You have much better chances out there that would cost less than half and the attorney would actually care for you.
Also, he looks way different than the picture in person.
