not a fast food joint, come on people!. yeah you do have to wait a little while. but hey this isn't burger king or some other fast food place. palo alto's wait is definitely the least compared to san fran and santana row. i have gone to this restaurant for drinks at the bar and dinner with my husband on many occasions. it is one of the only restaurants on university ave that stays open past 11 on weekends, that is actually good food. I love this place, especially has anyone else noticed that exceptionally good looking people are hired there, which is a nice treat for me when I go there with my girlfriends.

Decadent cheesecakes and classic American cuisine makes this a popular chain.. In Short
Faux-rustic finishes and colorful light fixtures abound at this almost always crowded chain. The thick-as-a-book menu features Americanized versions of worldly cuisines--Mexican, Vietnamese, Italian, Thai--but succeeds best with American classics. Burgers are a good choice, especially the ""Roadside Sliders,"" mini burgers served as appetizers. The myriad cheesecakes are over-the-top in concept and decadence. You'll leave full, with leftovers.

Expansive well designed menu for the popular palet. Let me first say, I'm a huge fan of small hole in the wall home style and generally chains are mass produced garbage, but this is the exception. I've had a few mediocre dishes, but most of them have been very good to excellent. As long as you go in knowing that it's food designed for the american palet and nothing authentic, you're in for a treat. Good for a family, but not a large group or party. They just don't know what to do with you. The cheesecake factory can get extremely packed on a weekend, but this location(Palo Alto University) is the quietest of the bunch. They have a bit of trouble with the layout of the place which creates a service issue for poor waiters, but most of the time it's at the least the minimum.

Good food, be prepared to wait. I've always loved the Cheesecake Factory and the one in Palo Alto is beautiful just like all of the rest, and the food is great of course! If you're going to go there on the weekend though be prepared for a LONG wait. They told us it would be about 35 minutes, well we waited for over an hour!

Wait.... then wait some more. I had to talk to the host 3 times about seating, three couples who arrived after us, WITH NO RESERVATIONS, were seated before us.

Host was clearly irritated by my questioning the seating process. Waived me off with his hand.

Good Ambiance,. The food can be heavy, but the menu is extensive enough to find some light choices. The ambiance is beautiful and the decorating is lovely. High ceilings, etc. The wait can be long if you are there on a week-end. The servers are quick and friendly.
