I called a technician at 8pm to secure the front door for a retail store front. I was told by the tech he was 30 min from my location. The tech showed up after 10pm. During that two hour time period, I called the tech several times to find out what his estimated time of arrival was. Each time he said he was almost there. The estimate to secure the door was over $ 1200.00. I’ve been a contractor for over 15 years and understand the costs of labor and material. In my opinion Pick Squad Locksmith in Modesto did not meet the minimum standard of service and conducted their business in a dishonest manner.
With the exception of the fact that they are not open Sundays, I think this business is perfect! (And really, if it hadn't been a Sunday that I needed keys copied, I likely would have no problem with them taking the Sabbath off). Very friendly employees, clean space, and convenient location. Locking yourself our of your apartment has never been so enjoyable!
My boss somehow lost both his sets of
keys, so he'd been leaving through the back door after locking the front door from inside the office. This not only meant he couldn't get in if I wasn't there, it also meant that when we hired two new employees we couldn't give them keys. The keys we needed duplicated are the kind that say "Do Not Duplicate." My boss had tried to get copies made and had been told "no" because of that. He was in a hurry, getting ready for an out-of-town trip, so he didn't have time to press the issue.
Serendipity! I was bored, reading Yelp reviews for lack of anything more interesting to do. When I read Mithril's review of Centerville Locksmith and saw that they'd do "Do Not Duplicate" keys, I jumped at the chance! I called them to verify that and was told that I needed to fax them a letter on company letterhead authorizing them to make the keys. I did that, including a line saying that our employee would have a copy of the letter with them when they came to have the keys made.
Our office is in Pleasanton but I live in Fremont so it was only logical for me to be the one to do this. I showed them a copy of the letter I'd faxed (it was actually funny because I was authorizing me) and had six keys made so that we'd have extras. All in all, I was in and out of there in 5 minutes and the price was cheap!
The person who made the keys was not the friendliest person in the world and normally I'd take at least one star off for that - but, the speed and the fact that they'd do these keys more than makes up for that. Five stars for Centerville Locksmith!
(and five stars for Mithril's review that resulted in me looking like a star to my boss!!)
I called Sean early in the morning an within a couple of hours he was working on my keys. He has been the go to guy for our company for a couple of years now. Always excellent and professional service. I wouldn't trust anyone else to do the job. A well deserved 5 stars!!
Very reasonable, professional and a super nice guy! I would highly recommend this company if you are looking for a fabulous locksmith!
