Really good food, really slow service.
I love the food at the Original Pancake House- but it's not a short trip to get it. Make sure if you plan to eat here that you have at least an hour to devote to your meal, and err on the side of longer rather than shorter.
The food really is good- the cherry kijafa crepes are my favorite, though the potato pancakes, chocolate chip pancakes, sourdough pancakes, and blueberry pancakes are all definitely appealing.
Ordering juice is almost not worth it, though- the glasses are small, expensive, and no refills. I find their specialty coffees to be worth the price, though their hot chocolate is clearly made from a mix (often quite silty). The italian sodas are good.
Service here is extremely slow. Even when the dining room is only half full, it's not uncommon to wait ten to fifteen minutes before your order is taken, then another twenty for your food, and it's somewhat on you to flag down someone for your check. Very infrequent check-ins by the waitstaff if any.
The food really is worth the wait, in my opinion, so if you have the time, definitely check it out. But make sure you really do have the time.

Made-to-order breakfasts---including over a dozen unique flapjacks---stack the odds in this restaurant's favor..
In Short
Founded in Oregon circa 1953, this simply-furnished spot owes its success to its creative menu and fresh ingredients. Batters are made on the premises; a special "sourdough starter" keeps treats from tasting overly sweet. Patrons choose from eggs, waffles, crepes and oven-baked omelets, as well as signature plates like blueberry pancakes (served with or without compote), giant cinnamon-glazed apple pancakes, thin and chewy "49-ers" and the air-filled, lemon-and-sugar-topped "Dutch Baby."

Service? Is that when you get to eat?.
We were seated promptly at the table next to the restrooms; fine. We had barely sat down when someone came with coffee and cream; good. Then the wait began. Everyone disappeared except the people clearing the table. We could see wait staff in the other dining room but none in ours. Another table was served but the waiter left without looking at us. Finally, the waiter stopped at our table looking surprised to see us and took our order. Food did come back out promptly and the order was correct but that was the end of the service. The waiter almost left without the last(only) drink order. No one came to check on us. No one gave us any more coffee after that first cup. No one asked if we wanted water. No one was around to flag down. This was in prime breakfast hours. We eventually got a bill.

Terrible Service - LOUSY MANAGMENT!.
Took the family & out of town relatives to breaksfast. We had called days ahead and told them about 16 people were coming. They said they would seat us together in one a semi private area so we made a reservation. Got their and the "CEO" (on his business card) was TOTALLY UNCOOPERATIVE and would not seat us together. He placed strangers at some of our tables. We complained and he said that his policy was not to accomdate groups together which was opposite of what we were told when we called. Finding someone to take our orders took forever, food came out slow, cold, and some people did not get what they ordered. Overall: IT WAS A FIASCO!!! THE CEO WAS A JERK!!! WILL NEVER RETURN!!!
