Great sushi, great service, great prices - GO!.
I've been looking for a good yet affordable Japanese restaurant in Mt. View. Last night, I found it. Sure, Masa Sushi is not located in a fancy spot, but maybe that's why they are able to keep the prices very reasonable. The restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly. Upon being promptly seated, complimentary carrot tempura was brought to our table. Delicious! We ordered an assortment of rolls. Shrimp tempura roll (6 pieces $4.50) was great and a deal. Las Vegas roll (a special - salmon, cream cheese, avocado - deep fried $7.95) came too heavily battered. I wouldn't order that one again. But everything else (rainbow roll, dragon roll, Diane roll) was delicious, and abundant. And FREE refills on soda. Never found that at a Japanese restaurant before.
Masa sushi is a hidden jewel.

Good Sushi.
I've been to several Japanese restaurants in the area and this one is definitely the best place for sushi. Its prepared by authentic Japanese chefs. It may be a hole in the wall but its a deal. You won't find yucky mayo imitation crab mix in your california rolls! Nigiri is expertly prepared, the fish is nicely cut and not too big or small. Go for lunch when it is cheapest.

Fair Sushi at Fair Prices.
I've been to Masa's several times over the past few months. Set in an unlikely strip mall (right near a liquor store), the ambiance isn't what you go for. All the usual suspects turn up, including a decent tekka maki, and several interesting veggie rolls. Don't go for the discriminating choices, like uni. While this isn't the greatest sushi in the area, it's a good, local sushi bar catering to the mid-Peninsula crowd. You could do worse.
