A different Asian food.
I first went to this restaurant a couple of years ago. They have the best mango chicken I've had anywhere. The roti bread is a treat -- and great to get the last bit of sauce. This restaurant is also a good one to take your vegetarian friends to as they will have reasonable choices. The food is attractively served.

Better Value Than Straits.
Don't get me wrong - I love Straits as much as the next person; but for anyone who loves Singaporean/Malaysian food, Spice Islands is much more practical. The Ton Kan soup, Roti Prata (both thin and thick, a choice you don't get at Straits), Mango Chicken, Basil pork ... just about everything is really great, although the lunch specials are less so. You will enjoy it just as much as the food at Straits, but for almost half the price. I wish they would open one up here in SF!

Spicy, yet tasteful.
A beautiful little restaurant situated in downtown Moutain View serves wonderful Singaporean food. For enthusiasts of Asian food, this place serves a wonderful meal, and is a must-visit for diners. Bring a good appetite to this restaurant, as well as control, as it is easy to get overly excited at the menu and order everything. Pay particular attention to the Roti Prata (appetizer), as you will want to make a meal of this. To enjoy more curries, try the Red Curry, or if you like your vege's enjoy the eggplant dishes there. A must have, is the peanut pancakes, that you have to order early on (it takes 20 mins to prepare). I hope you take the time to enjoy this favorite spot as much as I did.
