Tips for Sono Sushi

Credit card thief. I was a fan of this restaurant for years until April 14th when one of the waitresses stole our credit card number. We know that it was this restaurant because both the charge for the meal and an over the phone itunes purchase were made almost simultaneously. If you eat here don't trust them with your credit card. Very disappointing because this used to be a great place.

Disappointed. the ambience is OK as many other sushi boat type restaurant. Like another review said, the boats are way too fast, even the sushi chef had a hard time to place dished onto a boat. Food are not fresh except the salmon. Tuna has colorant which shows on the rice. The chef recycled dishes quite often. I saw his took out a few "old" dishes and replace with different kind of food, but those old one stay behind the counter.

one of the sushi chef skill is terrible, I just happened take a few classed to learn about Japanese food, so I realized the chef was being sloppy.

Presentation of the sushi on a place is terrible.

Sono is the place to go for GREAT sushi in Mountain View!!. This is my favorite Sushi getaway! After visiting other Sushi Restaurants in the area, I still continue to come back to Sono again and again. The atmosphere is friendly and the service is excellent. The menu selection is perfect for an afternoon snack or a late dinner for two. The fish is so fresh and full of excellent flavor. I highly recommend the "E" box for a nice variety of California rolls, Tuna, Eel, shrimp, and salmon. There Shrimp Tempura is exceptional as well. Enyoy!

Go for the Sushi Boat. While this is not a stellar sushi restaurant, it is a lot of fun - one of the best sushi boats locally. When we went, the service was decent, the food was quite good, and the ambience was cozy. It would be nice to see more selection on the menu. The food is average, and overall it was an average value.

transparent sushi. sushi boats are fun but....the nigiri peices were so thin that you could see through them. Trying to get anything other than the boring selection of sushi on the boats takes persistence and patience and time that you may not have.

High Fun Factor. Let's face it, sushi boats are fun. This place doesn't have the most creative sushi, but it is fresh and tasty, and they are fast to refill the boats. Really, there's nothing better than watching all the yummy goodies float around til you figure out what you want to try. It's like a foodie amusement park. Prices are average. Service is straightforward. Go, have fun.
