RIPPED OFF

I too just received a bill from ACCO Management after living at Cypress Point apartments for just over a year. I received bogus charges and I will be taking them to small claims court. Anyone else needing to go to small claims court should print out these reviews and take them with you. Report them to the Department of Real Estate too!

We got ripped off, and never even moved in!!

We applied to rent from them and paid our application fee (non-refundable) and a $650 deposit we were told was refundable. Then we saw the horrible reviews of the company and changed our minds. The manager told us we'd be refunded our deposit. We waited two weeks, called the manager again, who assured us we'd be refunded.

Nope; got a letter that we had not given them a security deposit, but rather a "holding deposit" which was in fact non-refundable. We didn't even move in, but the contract we signed let them retain our deposit as "liquidated damages."

I've complained through official channels, but ACCO's controller is sticking to his story: the manager explained everything clearly, and never said we'd get our deposit back.

Do NOT deal with these people under any circumstances!
