Editorial Review for St. John's Bar & Grill – by Jim Harrington
The Scene
It's laid back. Order a burger and beer and then kick it at one of the wooden tables. It's appropriate for families, softball teams and couples out on dates. St. John's is a great place to watch sports events on the numerous TVs. Unlike many places, St. John's actually turns up the volume so you can hear the Giants beat the Dodgers.
The Food
St. John's touts its burgers highly--and for good reason. The 1/3-lb patties are fried to juicy perfection. Try the bacon Swiss burger, with two strips of thick-sliced bacon served on an onion roll, or the blue bacon burger. The Philly cheesesteak sandwiches boast plenty of thinly sliced steak with grilled onions, mushrooms and/or peppers. The excellent selection ranges from the upscale (El Toro) to the usual (Budweiser).

Went there for lunch, and it was pretty crowded so get there before the crowd. Atmosphere is lively and a lot of fun. Very good burgers!
Pros: Great burgers, beer, atmosphere
Cons: Can get crowded

This place has some great food. Lines out the front door are common during lunchtime, with many of the folks repeat offenders, that shows you this place rocks. It might take you 10-15 minutes to order, but your food is ready in no time - and you can hang out on the big outdoor patio. Tri-tip Tuesdays are excellent, get the bigger sandwich if your hungary because the regular lacks enough sliced beef - it's more of a lady's sando. Happy Hours are not even that busy, so it is a good place to go after work for some beers and burgs. They could use a few more TV's if it were a big time sports bar, but they do have a older projection bigscreen that is always on local ports. I've even seen Bill Walsh - The Genius - eat there a few times (a few years ago), so this place has to be good. They're not open Sunday to watch NFL, that is the only bummer.
Pros: good burgs & cheesesteaks
Cons: extra salty fries
