When I wasnt sure how my insurance would handle the car accident, these guys were there to help me and get my car to a shop as soon as possible. I liked their hard work and dedication to their job
I didnt have any issues when we were stranded a half hour from home. They showed up in the amount of time they said they would and were able to get our car out of the ditch with ease. They thoroughly explained the cost and why it was what it was and I felt that it was reasonable
THey are fucking HORRIBLE !!!! I WAs calling around for PRICES FOR my company move. AND this fucker just show up there un announce at our job site. wanting to do the job while they charge 10x more than other people. I was asking for price did not confirm i want the fucking job !!!!! and the driver call me full of shit. !because i dont wanna give them the job!
Ka-ching!!!. Got Money??? This is what Sunnyvale Tow is all about!!! Anything to make money. Inside my mobile park, I was parked in front of someone's home for less than 10 seconds to drop off a check during my lunch hour and as soon as I handed her the check, she said tow truck, you better leave.... I went straight to my car and got in before he had a chance to hook up my car, and after I had already turned it on, he lifted it. He told me I need to get out because he's taking my car. After wasting my breath and trying to explain how I was only there for 5 seconds, literally. He said it didn't matter, either I pay $85 or he's taking the car. Highway robbery, I tell you. The guy, his name is Jose, by the way, said if I would have approached him instead of starting my car, he would've just told me to move it. What a bunch of BS... the jerk would've just sped away!!! I called the office and they said that the entire place was a fire zone (red zone)... then where the heck is the red morons. Brian, the Casa De Amigos manager, is a piece of work himself. Ever since he came here, the entire place went downhill. Both people said they couldn't do a thing about it because my car was already lifted.... well duh, Jose lifted it AFTER I got in and started it. It's their way of making money. I love living in Sunnyvale, but the politics involving the city is INSANE!!!! UGHHHHH
crooks!. These guys are crooks, and it is a shame that they contract with the police departments in the area. My 92 year old grandmother is getting chemo treatments for her throat cancer so she can't walk a very far distance. All the visitor parking spaces in her complex were full as there is a man who parks 4 of his cars there, so my uncle parked by the side walk with his emergency blinkers on so that he could walk her to the car. They were in and out in less than two minutes, but when they came out the car was gone. She of course missed her appointment, and I had to go pick them up to take them to the tow facility. They made us wait 30 minutes to pick up the car--my grandmother came along as she was anxious about the car. She had to use the restroom and almost went on herself. The tow service drives around the complex at all hours of the day and night. I have heard that they have you pay them $200 not to tow your car if you see them before they take it. The tow truck guy bragged to me that he could tow a vehicle in less than 60 seconds. I was told by another senior woman in the building that the driver asked for money not to tow her car. It took her awhile to get the cash from her apartment, and when she returned, her car was gone.
I got hit by these guys too parked at a fire line for a few minutes. Had to fork out $85.00 or else he was going to take it to the depot for $170.00 at a minimum. So he says. I must say tho, I was pretty impress how fast he locked the front wheels of the car. It literally took no more than five seconds. He made up some stories how the owners have been calling. I know the owner of my complex and they never called. Go figure.
Sadly, all this is legal per California law. V.C. § 22658
(E) (i) General authorization to remove or commence removal of a vehicle at the towing company’s discretion shall not be delegated to a towing company or its affiliates except in the case of a vehicle unlawfully parked within 15 feet of a fire hydrant or in a fire lane, or in a manner which interferes with an entrance to, or exit from, the private property.
If you're in Sunnyvale, beware. They're out there... prowling.
DON'T PAY, DISPUTE YOUR TICKET! IT'S A MONKEY BUISNESS!. I am very angry with these guys! I have left my car in front of MY HOUSE for 3 min. leaving emergency lights on. The towing truck appeared from nowhere and dragged away my car within seconds. I was there, in the house, and saw him leaving and ran after him waving trying to make him stop. Then I've jumped into my stepfather's car and followed him. He did not pay attention to my signaling, so I drove in front of him on the road and made him stop. He seemed very angry but also quite embarrassed that he was caught at wrongdoing. At first he did not want to talk at all, and then told me that if I don't pay right here on the spot $175, I would have to pay $250 later. It was an obvious blackmail. I have paid. Later I called at the numbe on the given slip and tried to discuss the situation with the person who answered the phone. She was rude and unwilling to listen. Then I tried to find their web site, and guess what? It's all in jumbo-mumbo language. I THINK IT'S A MONKEY BUISINESS!!! CALL SUNNYVALE POLICE DEPARTMENT BEFORE PAYING YOUR TICKET AND ASK THEM WHY THEY HAVE GIVEN THEM SO MUCH AUTHORITY!!!
These guys are in my Apartment complex (in Sunnyvale ) every day of the week fishing for any car parked in a red zone. I agree with towing folks that are parked in these zones for hours on end. It is not safe.
However, I don’t agree with them towing people who are in front of a 6 foot red curb for approximately 1 and half minutes (as was my situation). I had a personal emergency and had to run back into my apartment. I was in the parking lot in front of a red curb for 1 and a half minutes with my hazards on.
If I felt I had enough time to park I gladly would have. I was not blocking another car or fire truck from pulling up and entering the walkway if an emergency had occurred in the elapsed 1 and a half minutes I was there.
I managed to stop the driver before he sped off, but I still had to pay a drop fee ($81.00). This individual could not be reasoned with and appeared to feel very confident in the job he does. After taunting me and attempting to goad me into a fistfight I realized I had to pay the money because I was left no choice.
After reading some of the other complaints below mine though, I feel that morally they are doing a disservice to the community. Pleased read the complaints and you can judge for yourself.
The problem with the whole situation is that these folks were hired by my apartment management. They are also the tow company of choice by the Sunnyvale P.D.
I found this out after speaking with an officer in length about the situation.
If this service is for the safety of others, why are they allowed to disobey the posted speed limit in our parking lot? There are a lot of children, pets and elderly folks that walk the grounds/parking lot daily. How is this safe for them?
. The economy is hard and we are all struggling to get by, but these folks are getting by on our dime by fishing for people like me, who may run in and out within minutes to grab our kids, a forgotten wallet, or any other myriad examples. My Father was a fireman for years and I have always fully respected red zones. Even with what I did that day, he would not have a problem, and would frown upon what these individuals are profiting from.
BE AWARE- if you live in Sunnyvale and need a tow company, you may want to rethink your decision.
