STAY AWAY! CUSTOMER BEWARE!
by RayM10
I can simply sum this as the worst, deceitful experience in a restaurant I have experienced.
We decided to give this restaurant a try based on their 50% off all rolls sign.
I asked if the 50% off was just for the Specialty rolls or all rolls. The waitress said "ALL rolls."
We then ordered a Spicy Tuna/Avocado roll and a Salmon/Avocado roll. The Spicy Tuna/Avocado came out with Cucumber and not Avocado. The waitress said that the sushi makers did not follow the menu and that it was a common problem.
We then asked if the 50% discount applied for TO GO orders which we were told yes. So we ordered a Tuna and Salmon roll.
Then the bill came
The $4.95 Tuna and Salmon roll were priced at $3.46 not the expected $2.48.
I asked about the 50% discount. The waitress said the menu price was wrong. We did get the 50% discount but the $5 sushi was closer to $7. She said that there were different prices but not stated in the menu. This was plain deceit now.
She said I was charged extra for the avocado added to my Salmon roll. I clarified with her that I paid for a Spicy Tuna/Avocado that came with Cucumber with no price adjustment, but having Avocado with Salmon was a price increase.
She left and came back and said that the sign says 50% off Specialty rolls and 30% off regular rolls. She said that the menu price should be right, but I was only getting a 30% discount. However, she had no evidence of a 30% discount.
So now my head was spinning.
The sushi makers change the ingredients
The 50% off ALL rolls is not "ALL"
There is a discretionary 30% discount
The menu prices are not fixed
If you have been here before and plan to go back, I urge that you try a more reputable place with better quality, taste and similar pricing (nearby Gombei or Cherry Sushi).
If you think my review is not helpful, I urge you to ask what "all" means and check your bill carefully.
Or just make your life less complicated and just plain STAY AWAY.
- Pros: Nothing
- Cons: Deceitful pricing and service
