Yummy

by ElleShan at Citysearch

Ok so I'm usually against ALL buffets but this is honestly is a step above the others. I dont really get why people are complaining about the service. I would think people go to a buffet to eat, not have a waiter kiss up to you. The food here is on par with what you get when you go to a regular restaurant only you get all you want. Therefore i like. Then end

Okay food HORRIBLE SERVICE

by ememem at Citysearch

The maximum they accomodate is 6 per table. $22.99 per person for "all you can eat" dinner service. I use quotes b/c if you're there too long the staff begins to get pushy and like the other reviews said, "they begin to hover over you." Our night was a perfect example. We were six to a table 3 guys and 3 girls. An hour into our dinner the waitstaff began to hover over us. Watching and counting (jotting notes) how many plates we went through. Their chamisul and baek se ju (korean alcohol) were sold for 3x what is should be. The whole point of group dining in this instance is to enjoy eachothers company, and eat until we're full. But the staff wasnt' having it at all. It got to a point where they stopped refilling our drinks, gave us a bill early, and cleared our plates before we were done. How rude! We decided to continue eating and didnt pay the bill b/c we werent finished. An old lady came by pointed and tapped at the bill, particularly the TIP portion. She said "Hey, you cant do that. You have to tip." We told her we werent done eating and that she should wait. She walked away and before we knew it there were 2 old ladys hovering over us. It was so uncomfortable that our group began to whisper to eachother. When we did settle the bill we tipped 8% only b/c we felt sorry for them. So to end this review. I would say go elsewhere like Han Il Kwan. Palace BBQ has a decent selection and the food is ok but they'll treat their customers like dirt if they're there for more than an hour (you have to cook your food DUH) or you're eating too much becuase you'll lose your appetite once this happens. Its not really all you can eat if you're being watched and forced to give a tip after being treated like dirt. I will never go back nor will any of my friends. They also made a rude comment in Korean as we were leaving. I know b/c I'm Korean but my friends werent. How pathetic.

  • Pros: if i have to categorize it then the FOOD but barely
  • Cons: everything else

The good, the bad, the ugly

by taek_ho at Citysearch

The good. Food is great. Good selection of meat.

The bad. As mentioned in previous reviews, the service is not good. Refills have been hit of miss. They take a long time to get things done, but given the size of the restaurant I give the waitstaff the benefit of the doubt. They do get pushy when it comes close to closing time, but did apologize when they brought out the check early. Service is more rushed than bad.

The ugly. The price. Other aspects of the restaurant should be more up to par given the price.

A tip. If you are w eating a lot of different meats, ask to get the grill changed at least once. As the grill top gets coated with charcoal, the food all starts to taste the same as it gets cooked with a mixture of all the different marinades.

  • Pros: Great food, Ample parking, Large food selection
  • Cons: , Service, Waiting for tables

TERRIBLE Service!

by velvetpaws at Citysearch

Being that I went through college with 3 Korean roommates (being Latina myself), I was delighted to find a Korean food place in the S. Bay. The service here was terrible! Our group of 4 had to continuously ask for drink refills, we were watched over constantly, the waitresses were constantly giving us unfriendly looks. A convo between our group about whether we should leave a tip after such abhorrent was rudely interrupted by the waitress declaring tips weren't included. My advice? Save your money and get better food at Korea House a bit down on El Camino.

  • Cons: Service, Price $22not worth it
