I would eat here again!. I went on a friday night. Forget about it. So then I went the next day for lunch. I was actually the first customer but many soon followed. I had a combination plate with a delicious chicken tamale. I mean really good. They also have pork. I also had a cheese enchiladas that was decent but after eating the tamale I would have rather had dos tamales! The bean(I got whole) were delicious too and the rice nice and fluffy. They are not skimpy on the rice. The chips were ok nothing spectacular. They give a bowel of good pico de gallo and also an insanely hot sauce!!!! I like hot but it's rather extreme for me. I noticed they have catfish fajitas and tacos. Not something I would get though. Wow, now I'm hungry for another tamale!
An old family favorite you can rely on.... I have been going to this restaurant since 1993, when I used to go out with my friends on a Friday or Saturday night. Then, 4 years later when I was pregnant with my first kid, I had major cravings for their crispy beef tacos day and night-- and only a Casa Lupe taco would do!! Both of my children were introduced to the beans, rice and cheese quesadillas. Now, 14 years later, we're still going an average of 2 times a month. My 9 1/2 yr. old prefers spicy things and LOVES the salsas and chips served at the table. My 6 1/2 daughter loves the chicken enchiladas. I still love my crispy beef tacos (it's my usual). What's great is that this is the only restaurant I know that serves mostly white meat for their chicken items. How fantastic is that?! The best thing about this place is the consistency of great food year after year, friendly customer service from the waiter staff (all brothers) and the fun festiveness of color throughout the place. This is a wonderful place to eat during your lunch hour with co-workers or with your family or friends!!
Editorial Review by Christy Buena. Restaurant serves a selection of authentic Mexican dishes at affordable prices in a romantic atmosphere.
This place never disappoints! GO!. I've been here for lunch and dinner numerous times, and every time the service is excellent and the food is consistently good. Casa Lupe has the kind of decor you'd expect to find in a family-style Mexican restaurant - lots of color and flair. Upon being seated, warm chips and two salsas are brought to the table. (The salsas seem to be "hot" and "really hot"...I do wish there was a mild pico.) Sodas come in abundant cups, and refills come free and fast. Margaritas come stong, just the way I like them. The menu is full of standard Mexican fare. It states that ala carte items are only available during lunch hours, but recently when I was there for dinner the waiter told me I could have anything I wanted ala carte. Prices are fair, especially considering the food is so good. This place is busy during lunch and dinner, so try to arrive before the crowd. But even if you arrive and have to wait, the wait is never long...AND, for the record, it is worth the wait!
Love it. This one on S Bernardo is the best we have tried all in the area, the service and food is outstanding!!!
