Pick from ingredients that include fresh fruit, veggies, nonfat frozen yogurt, soy milk and dairy-free sherbet. Or order the Coldbuster, a blend of orange juice, peaches, bananas and 2,000 percent of the daily recommended amount of vitamin C. In addition to smoothies, it also offers a short menu of soups, low-fat breads and pretzels.

Keep trying. I've come to Jamba Juice once in a while to grab a quick, seemingly nutritious 'meal'. This last time I was drawn to it since I was feeling under the weather. In the end, it didn't do me any good. While my wheatgrass and Orange Dream Machine (which I order becuase it always reminds me of Orange Julius) were served promptly, my pizza sticks had been delayed, practically forgotten. I wasn't until I made faces of displeasure that the staff took the hint and remembered that part of my order. I had come at the end of the Palo Alto High School run, not wanting to brave the crowds any earlier. It's something to think about when timing your lunch run. Parking should not be a problem since it's situated in a large shopping plaza.
