I used to go to "Hair International" once every three months for the last two years. I was quite happy with the service of one of the hair stylists and her good work compensated the poor customer service over the phone and at the front desk. One time, whne making an appointment, the lady over the phone wrote down the stylist name incorrectly, and this caused a one hour wait for me when I came. Another time I have to wait for about 20 minutes for an appointment I have made and came right on time for it. Today I and my wife arrived 9 (nine) minutes late for her appointment and were explained that since we are late more than 10 minutes our stylist is busy with another client and we have to wait. It sounded ridiculous to me keeping in mind what I have experienced in the past and I asked to talk to the manager. The initial response was that the manager is not there, but, surprisingly, she (the manager) appeared 10 minutres later and asked what the problem was. I learned from the manager that when one makes an appointment he/she should not be late for it and that is the reason for the 10-minutre late policy. I asked why noone ever has mentioned this 10-minute policy, and she answered that it would take too much time to say it over the phone. Therefore, 10 seconds are too much time for them, but waiting one hour is not a problem for me. Overall, a big disapoinment and a waste of time, not worth the haircut service anymore. I could not imagine what I would do if I had to go to "Hair International" on a walk-in basis. It is really frustrating to change the place you make you haircut, but not because of the stylist. Such a management is an inadequate match for this area.
Pros: Good haircut if the right stylist
Cons: everything else

It's a complete gamble who you will get at this place. There may be one or two people who know what they were doing but the rest DEFINITELY do not. I can't believe Stanford allows a place like this to occupy space there. It's really disappointing. I've come here twice and was never satisfied (I had thought I would give them a second chance and was very sorry that I did). I told them what i wanted specifically and after SEEMING like the stylist knew what I wanted, went ahead and did whatever she wanted to anyway. Called back to speak to manager to get my color AND my cut fixed... at least 5x. I never got a call back or heard any urgency from them to get back to me. Don't go... spend your money elsewhere.
