Decent and inexpensive place to get your nails done. This is a great place to get inexpensive ($25) manicure/pedicures in Palo Alto, compared to the $38 combos on University Ave. It is a pretty no-frill place, but I was completely satisfied with the experience. They have a decent selection of polish (including a lot of OPI), and are usually not that busy so you can be seated without delay. I had 2 women working on me at the same time, and they give you a nice leg massage and hand massage with lotion included in the price. In terms of the "tricky pricing" mentioned by the last reviewer, they clearly ask you up front whether you want a spa chair (the $35 option) or regular chair ($25) so I did not have a problem with that.

Sneaky, sneaky, sneaky pricing scheme.. This really is the worst manicure place ever. I had even read the other reviews here about how they try to trick you into paying more money than they say up front. Oh my gosh, do they! Outside, on the storefront window, it says $25 Manicure/Pedicure in HUGE lettering. I walk in, and say that I want a manicure-pedicure. The girl says, "$25"? I say, "Yes, $25 manicure-pedicure." They lead me to a chair. I get the pedicure and manicure. They take my card and bring the receipt back for me to sign - $35 charged to my card!!! Then the manager claims that they told me it was $35 for the pedicure in the "special chair," but I must not have understood because the girls don't speak English very well, she's very sorry but she does not know how to credit the charge. Ten minutes and a loud scene later, she gave me the appropriate amount of cash back. By then, I was angry and cranky. Stay away from this place!!!

excellent service at a reasonable price. This nail salon offers both spa pedicure chairs (which I don't like for hygenic reasons) and Homedic foot spa "buckets" (which I prefer for hygenic reasons). I did see the staff sanitize the pedicure chairs between clients but I still prefer the buckett.

I had a manicure and pedicure. Both were excellent. I very much appreciate the gentle touch, excellent skills and happy attitude of the staff. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing. I will definitely be a regular at this establishment.

I will be a regular

A terrible experience.... Nail & Joy, what a mistake! I asked for a manicure/pedicure. I was disappointed when I realized a container filled with water was used for the pedicure. I overheard another girl complaining because she was charge $15 for a polish, although she was told $10. The owner said "You been here before? Okay, $12 for you". The owner asked me to pay $35, I was shocked. Down El Camino is a place that has SPA pedicure/manicure for $25. Downtown there are plenty of places that charge $35. I thought that was an unfair price. She said they will be getting new spa pedicure chairs, and the price will be the same. She also claimed they use better quality nail polish, which was untrue considering it chipped off 3 days later. She then give me a $5 gift certificate for next time. Yeah right Save your money, and go elsewhere.
