Great Stylist, Great Service. I knew I wanted a new hairstyle, but I hadn't quite figured out what it was i really wanted yet. So I decided to stop in at Mane Event and make an appointment. They actually were able to take me that night. I explained to my stylist, Jessica, that I knew I wanted to go shorter, and probably have some layers, but other than that, I had no idea. She asked me about my haircare & styling routine and determined what she felt would work best for me and my face shape. My hair has a tendency to get curly when its shorter and she made sure to balance my cut whether I would have it straight or curly. I love my new haircut, its simple to style in the morning. Yes, you heard it right - Collen Blair is the best stylist at Mane Event Salon.. I moved to CA from FL 4 years ago to go to school and thru these 4 years I have not found a stylist in the Bay like her. The one thing that sets Colleen apart from other stylists, in my opinion, is the way she connects with people. She took time to get to know me, to hear what I want, suggested few things, and most importantly wanted to make sure I was satisfied 110%. Colleen knows hair. I went to Colleen for the first time last summer. My hair was very damaged and bleached blond and I had never really been comfortable with dying my hair dark. She convinced me to go dark and it ended up looking great!! She also cut my hair exactly the way I wanted. I, then, went back to her last week with a picture of the cut that I wanted. I LOVE my hair, thanks Viola!. I have never really gotten my hair cut and styled at a salon, I've always been a "supercuts" kinda girl. I wanted to try something different so I called to make an appt with Viola after reading such great reviews on citysearch. I have NEVER been happier with the way my hair looks! Go to Ivo, he really cares about your hair!. I started going to Ivo a while ago. He has been doing my haircuts for a while now. He suggested that I do Highlights because I started to see grey hair. He started by dying my whole head a beautiful golden brown color. He then added golden honey highlights. I was amazed at how shiney and sparkley it made my hair look. Colleen is the Bomb!!!. This is my first ever review but I have to let you know about Colleen. Colleen has been doing my hair for the past few months and has always exceded my expectations. For the past few years I have been bored with my hair but also cautious to do too much to change it.

The problem - two fold, the color wasn't as bold as I wanted plus I didn't know what I wanted. Since Colleen has been recommending new products I have been able to do so much more with my hair. Also, she promised me if I used Purology, that my color would last. Boy was she right - this last time I had to color not because my hair was brassy (as in the past) but because my roots were showing.

Colleen colored my hair and it was perfect, again. As she was cutting my hair, she hesitated for a moment and said, "Hmmm, I have an idea". I told her she had card blanc to do what she wanted as long as she didn't bring out the clippers. Colleen went to town, I was nervous but I know hair grows back. WOW, when she was finished I looked fabulous. She captured what I have been looking for all these past years!!! I have needed her for a long time. As a true artist, give her the pallette and let her do what she does best and you will be surprised. Colleen has cut my hair better than anyone else.
