Best Sushi in Los Gatos
by GatosMom
We have eaten here both take-out and at the restaurant. This is our number one choice for the swing-by- and-pick-up-dinner place. The sushi is fresh and flavorful. The service has always been excellent. We go so often the host knows our names. We have tried other sushi restaurants in town and have been sorely disappointed.
Thouhtful service, very good sushi

My two year old and I love to go to this restaurant together. They are very kid friendly. They always make special chopsticks which are good for training kids to use, and he enjoys eating with. He loves the rice and the dumplings. I always get their sashimi, and it is delicious. I would recommend going here for sushi if you are in the area, and especially if you have young kids.
- Pros: kid friendly, delicious service
- Cons: a little more expensive than nearby sushi joints
Terrible food and attitude....Stay away from this place
by mellowFrank
I went there on a date on 4/4/2008. We were seated promptly however the food was bad. The Udong was not cooked well and when I complained they blamed us for not eating it fast enough...The manager said it sat there long time. I told him from the minute they brought it in the noodle was not cooked well and it tasted terrible. He was not even apologetic and said there is nothing he can do. He charged full price and really blamed us. Needles to say my date was a Korean and her comment was this was the worst food and owners were really rude. Please save your money and stay away from this place. This is not to bash Korean owned Sushi places as there are many nice one's in the valley...however this particular restaurant has no sense of customer service. It is pricey and the food is bad.
- Pros: Nice location
- Cons: Bad customer service, rude managment, over priced
Our new sushi joint

Every roll we ordered was great! We love our sushi and Kamakura is defiantly our new spot. I would recommend it to anyone who appreciates good sushi.
Won't go again

Orderd takeout. Waited for 5 min after food was brought to the counter. Food was expensive for both the amount and quality. Restaurant is tacky and dark. Sushi bar looks fake. Will not return. Better value almost anywhere else.
Excellent sushi in happening area

Simply put, this is a fun place with great sushi. You can bring your kids, lots of friends, or a date here. I usually eat in SF, but this is one of my two picks for the South Bay (Seto is the other). It doesn't have the noisy, over-trendy crowd you get in the city (or Miyake's in Palo Alto), but it does have energy. Staff is friendly, helpful, and mostly attentive (when they're not swamped--this place does get swamped). Reasonable prices (for good sushi) and a reasonable selection with specials. All-in-all, a quality sushi place in downtown Los Gatos.
- Pros: Food, Prices, Location!
- Cons: So-so decor
