Needs much improvement

by willrun4food

I've not written reviews before but this time I just have to comment on how awful the food was. I ordered fish tacos which was a fish stew served on undercooked tortilla with cheese. My husband ordered fajitas, the chicken was dry and vegetable overcooked. Taco Bell's version of Mexican food is more authentic than this.. Sorry Pedro but you need to improve your food. The location is beautiful potential is great but please work on the food..

  • Pros: Building is nice, open and comfortable
  • Cons: Food was awful!

I'm surprised this place doesn't have more reviews. This location and building is kind of strange but hey when it's happy hour who cares. Judging by their chips and salsa you can already tell that the Mexican food here will be pretty decent. I recommend the shredded beef enchiladas. The food and drink is at good prices. The service is mediocre but I didn't really expect for it to be outstanding. It seems as if the larger the party you're in, the more priority you'll have. To go along with the drink specials (weekdays 3-7), Pedro's offers a small complimentary buffet. It's definitely worth checking out. Don't be surprised if it's crowded when you go.

Very poor service.

by richardhiggins

Very good food; very, very poor service. The worst service I have seen in a long time. At the Sunday buffet three times I had to ask the receptionist to have a server come behind the food counter to serve. Normally there was no server behind the counters. I had to holler for the busboy to send our waiter for coffee. I asked for clean flatware and was refused. We had to go to the receptionist to get the tab. I was someone's guest but if I had brought a guest I would have been embarrassed. We left zero tip. I will never return nor recommend this restaurant to anyone.

cool layout

by bayareaeaters

The layout was different from most restaurants. It looks like a mission. However, the food seemed very plain and over priced. The drinks were pretty good. I do agree that this place would make for a good happy hour. Not sure if we'll try it again for dinner, but we might go back for drinks.

  • Pros: Great layout
  • Cons: Over priced

Pedros = Happy Hour

by jeffkirby

I've searched high and low for another Happy Hour place to beat out Pedro's. I can find nothing better. Pedro's offers multiple patios with a wealth of seating, patient servers, margaritas that knock all but the most dedicated of lushes on their _ss, and free food at Happy Hour. What could be better? I never seem to part with too much cash for incredible margaritas and I walk away with great stories, a full belly, a nice buzz, and awesome memories. Thank you Pedros. Don't order food.

  • Pros: margaritas, free food at happy hour, big patio, service,
  • Cons: some say the food is inedible. just go for happy hour.

Great food

by scooterscu

I am a HUGE fan of chile colorado and Pedro's makes a great one served with rice, beans and corn tortillas. The lunch plate is big enough to share, especially after enjoying their great, spicy salsa and chips.

I went on a Friday afternoon and the parking lot was packed, but was seated within a couple minutes, so don't be discouraged.

Great group meal!

by ouphikap21

We had a group of 20 here for dinner. The service was fabulous and the food was great. I would definitely recommend it for any group meal.

Burritos in a bow tie: The restaurant marries straightforward Mexican dishes with a fancy, Mission-style setting.

The Scene
Imagine the food at a typical chain restaurant--delete from your mind the kids yelling about balloons and that horrible birthday song they perpetrate on everyone--and add lots of margarita-swilling 20- and 30-somethings.

The Food

Lunchtime entrees are geared towards enchiladas, offered with a pleasant red sauce or an equally agreeable green. Big tostada salads are heavy with sour cream, guacamole, shredded chicken and mild salsa, and the combination plates bring just what you'd expect. Only the more expensive dinner entrees disappoint, with lackluster and ersatz seasonings.

Happy, Happy, Happy Hour

by arcand503

We just moved to San Francisco, and saw Pedro's on the way to Great America one weekday afternoon. We stopped by after leaving the park for some drinks. WOW. We stumbled into what turned out to be the best Happy Hour ever. Lots of great complimentary food at the bar, half price drinks, kick-ass salsa. Best of all, it's a nice, attractive, spacious environment. I have no problem driving 45 miles after work for Happy Hour at Pedros. I'm not sure if it's the food and drinks, or the parking lot that I like better (I guess you have to live in the city to appreciate a "real" parking lot).
