We are so lucky to have St.Peter among our neighborhood restaraunts. In a sea of mediocre restraunts St.Peter is godsend. The atmosphere is always freindly and the food consistently good. When not overly busy they are happy to create a dish that suits your fancy if you happen to be in the mood for something not on the evenings menu. We love it and dine at St.Peter weekly!

A rare night away from our young children, m husband and I enjoyed the prix fix menu at 71 St. Peter. The service was excellent and parking was easy (garage across the street). The risotto was great, as was the filet mignon (amazing). We will go back soon.

Pros: prix fixe menu, service

For a while last year, 71 St. Peter seemed to have faded a bit. The menu seemed a bit tired. I am happy to report that we went last night with four out-of-town guests, and were delighted by everything. The restaurant has come roaring back to the top of its game. Three of us ordered their imaginative summer five course tasting menu--every bite a culinary masterpiece, and a tremendous bargain at $32.00 with an equally great bargain of unusual wine pairings for each course at $18.00. The other members of our party had one of the restaurant's signature dishes--grilled duck, with duck confit, which arrived hot, crispy and extraordinarily flavorful. The entire meal was a treat, with superbly attentive service throughout. 71 St. Peter is unquestionably one of the finest restaurants in Northern California, and one of the great culinary bargains anywhere.

Pros: large, varied wine list; wonderful, imaginative food; great service, and ambiance

Cons: none. Our experience was delightful

I had dinner at this restaurant because they particate in the united plus dining program. I ordered their today special tri tip steak (one of the most expensive on the menu) for $24.50. I requested medium rare. The steak came out over cooked and in my opinion the restaurant could serve better meat for $24.50. I am not recommending this place.

Pros: Parking free after 6PM

Cons: over rated

Even though the food used to be good the management has truly gone down the drain. Reservations are not being honored, the manager or snotty Maitre Di hang up the phone on you and surely the waiters could care less about you. This restaurant has gone from great to beyond poor. Save your money and rather go to A.P. Stupms, the Grill on the Alley or Blakes steakhouse.

I was given a recomendation from a colleague about the great service and wonderful food. I was sorely dissapointed. My waiter, named Roberto, seemed more interested in talking to a table next to me than making sure my date and I received hot food. I could see my food sitting there, it would not get to us if it had not been for another person delivering them. Which we had to have warmed up. To that persons credit he was friendly and polite and fixed the meal very fast and offered to refill our wine. It was not until after we finished our meal that Roberto came back to the table, and that just seemed like he just wanted to sell us dessert. Again because he was busy socializing to yet another table. I found this interesting because there was a total lack of any management figure there to keep him back on track. The food was good, the second time and presentation was great, better than expected actually but the service was lacking. I see no reason for a waiter to act so smug to a paying client. I do plan on returning to the resturant, as I said the food is great, I just will not want to get stuck with Roberto again.

Came here for the very the first time, and was pleasantly surprised. We started out with the crab cakes, and they were outstanding. The baked brie with glazed walnuts was incredible. I only wish the toasts for spreading the brie on were a little less dense and that there were more of them. Their special pasta that day, with sausage and salmon was wonderful. The prices were not to high, considering the quality and portions they provide. I will definitely be going back!

Pros: Best Crabcakes, Baked Brie

One of my favorites - anywhere. Service is supurb. Fresh ingrediants. Menu will please anyone. Great dinning in a warm - and romatic atmosphere OR perfect for a business meeting when you want to actually hear each other! Sidewalk dining in good weather. Owner is always there - insures service and food is outstanding... no excuses

Pros: quality of food, service, owners

Cons: size, no late nigh dinning

I enjoyed eating at 71 Saint Peter and will return sometime. The resturant has a nice cozy feel and I enjoyed the food. We had a table 6 on weekday night and had no problems getting seated but the place is more suited for parties of 4 or less. I had the prefix menu and it was very good for the priced. I sampled the other dishes in my party and I enjoyed all of them and we all agreed that the portion size wss good too. I would say the only negative is the time it takes to get your food as there was long periods of waiting between courses.

Pros: Ambience, Food, Value

Cons: Slow Service

For the first 20 minutes, which only got us our drinks and some bread, the waiter was great. Then a larger table came in and ordered the prix fixe menu and from then on out dinner was a struggle. We made the mistake of asking for a dessert menu and that took us another 10 min. We finally decided to go and found paying the bill a complete disappointment. Rather than feeling we had spent 100 bucks on a great date night out, I felt cheated of a even a mediocre experience. DO NOT GO ON A BUSY NIGHT! I think that's the lesson to be learned here. Oh, and if you are wondering why I didn't mention the food at all it's because it's simply unnoticeable, neither great nor awful...just sort of there.

Pros: Free Parking
