So not worth it
by biancamarie48 at Citysearch
I have taken my 3 dogs to Lawrence Pet Hospital for years and spent thousands of dollars to maintain my animals' health. During the past few years, their prices have increased significantly, but their customer service and care have decreased. The employees made me feel like a horrible pet owner and blamed my pet's health problems on my neglect when I had taken every step to appease the vet's recommendations. This facility is just so not worth the money or the emotional stress.
- Pros: Location
- Cons: Pricing, Customer Service
Loving Caring Vet & Staff
by DixieCup at Citysearch
I drive 15 miles to go to this vet! They are all caring and professional individuals. When I take my bully dog to board, he is so excited to see the staff. We have been using this vet for over 7 years and have never had a bad experience. You get what you pay for! If you are so concerned about spending $ on your pets maybe you should get insurance for them.
- Pros: Caring, very clean, professional and they never keep you waiting
- Cons: parking can be tight
Always caring

When I read the negative reviews posted here, I feel that they must have gone to a different place. We have been going to Lawrence Pet Hospital for many years and have always felt our pets were in the best of care. Dr Reed saved our dog after she drank antifreeze and I didn't take her in for several days.
The staff and doctors have always been great and caring.
- Pros: care of the staff, keeping us informed, hours opened,
- Cons: parking is a bit tight
Expensive yes, but a quality vet hospital.

When our elderly dog started intestinal bleeding on a weekend, our regular vet referred us to Lawrence which is open every day. We were very impressed with the care and caring given by the two vets who treated her. Expensive, yes (which is why I rated it four stars instead of five) but we had the feeling that our puppy was receiving first rate care. And, in fact, she recovered.
heeeeeyl no!

first of all, they are way to pricey and their rates keep going up! this one time i went their, my dog had too much vitamins and we took him to to Lawrence Pet Hospital they wouldn't treat him unless i paid them $400+ first, all including immediate surgery along with a stomach pump. it already sounded awful to me! so i called another pet hospital, and they gave me a completely different diagnosis. They also charged me for calling an animal care line .. $40!!!!! even a customer there was like, "that doesn't sound right, if u call them yourself its free." so he asked them and they got all defensive and told him to leave.
bottom line, NEVER GO!! unless you want your pet in danger and have tons of money to just waste.
HORRIBLE VET DO NOT GO HERE

DO NOT GO TO LAWRENCE PET HOSPITAL!!! They mistreated my dog and ALSO MY FRIEND'S DOG DIED and they still made her pay for everything in full even though it was because of their wrong diagnosis that she died!!! First of all, they diagnosed my dog completely wrong. They keep giving you the run-around and charge you more and more money so you keep having to come back and their pay high prices. They kept telling us they didn't know what was wrong with him and then that they did know, and then that they didn't... yet they kept charging. They charged us a total of 500+. He would have DIED if i didn't hurry up and take him somewhere else. Right when we took him to another vet they told us a very serious diagnosis and got him treated right away and he was already better the next day. Then when we asked for our money back from LPH, they called our new vet and hassled him, so now he doesn't want to see us anymore. Plus we didn't get our money back. And when I talked to the general manager he gave me attitude in a mocking way. Their customer service was horrible. They don't care about your pet. They only want to make money. They are very expensive.
- Pros: their waiting room is nice looking
- Cons: they dont' care about animals, they charge a lot, they never give you a straight answer, they are rude, they charge you even if they never give you an answer.
LAWRENCE PET HOSPITAL

This is a newer hospital / animal clinic. Because of its proximity we took our dogs there. On a Saturday afternoon one of my dogs became very sick. I called 1/2 hour before closing and they wouldn't see my dog. They told me to take him to a 24 hour ER clinic and the care there was horrible. They wanted to give him an IV when he wasn't even dehydrated or running a temperature. It cost me $500. to get her treated. I was upset that Lawrence wouldn't take a good amd regular customer.
My other dog was injured in a local dog park and she was rushed to Lawrence. The vet took 30 minutes getting an IV in her as she cried in pain. It was the last surgery of the day. I told the vet how sensitive to medication she was. We decided to have the ER surgery. I felt the vet wanted to leave early and rushed on the surgery. The surgery was "successful" but my poor sweet dog died on the surgery table as her heart stopped. The surgery was $1800. plus, in the 45 minutes she was on the table. Our dog died we had to pay in full, plus they wanted to charge more to freeze her and put her in a buriel plot. We chose to take her body home and bury her under the apple tree, rather than give them more money.
The doctor was not sympathetic, just another business day to him. I feel their overhead is sky high and it is a business as opposed to a caring place to take your pets.
I'd advise if living in Santa Clara to find a smaller place with vets who have a personal interest in their clients and pets. YOU PAY FOR THE OVERHEAD AND LOCATION OF LAWRENCE. Also, go to a pet clinic at Petsmart or another store for rabies shots and the 6 in one. They are priced better and seem happy doing their jobs.

Best Pet Care Facility in the Area
by donnaday12 at Citysearch
Everyone is always incredibly helpful, the ladies at the desk are fun and efficient, and the doctors always seem to know just what to do about any problems I've brought up with my animals. It is an incredibly nice facility (very clean, inviting). I would recomend that everyone take their pets to Lawrence. Daisy, Duke, Charlie, and my family just love it!!
- Pros: Doctors, waiting areas, exam rooms, prices
- Cons: not a lot of parking
