Just like back home brah!

This place is so reminiscent of back home. The atmoshere, food, portions, aloha spirit, everything. If you haven't tried this place, you are missing out. The food is delicious and the portions are huge and it doesn't cost you an arm and a leg. Any of you islanders out there who wants a bit of back home, this is a must place to dine, drink, whatever. Da' grinds are da' best! Oh, and the servers are gorgeous!

YUMM-O!

the hukilau is an absolute MUST go to restarant! it has HUMUNGOUS portions at very very low prices. the food is definately worth more than what is priced on the menu. i would recommend the teriyaki short ribs for ONLY $10 for the huge plate. also the spam musubi is very intriguing, which is spam wrapped around rice and nori (seaweed) looking similar to sushi. the service is amazing! our waitress was extremely helpful. she told us her recommendations of what meals to order, and our other waiter visited our table several times to fill up our cups and ask how our meal was doing. definately a must go!

Laid-back Hawaiian scene offering home-style island eats and unique tiki drinks.

The Scene
From the outside, Hukilau looks like a funky one-room beach shack, so the attractive interior and spacious second dining room are a surprise. There's family-style dining and a small bar in back. More intimate seating and a fancy, thatched, mosaic-topped bar are in the front room. The restaurant is decorated with vintage Hawaiian surfing and travel posters, a real surfboard and fake palm trees. Most patrons dine at tables, with an occasional tiki bar aficionado dropping in to sample the libations.

The Draw
Hukilau offers those peculiar Hawaiian favorites like grilled Spam and Loco Moco that transplanted islanders crave, plus burgers, teriyaki and roast pork. The bartenders mix a selection of fruity island drinks, including the Wahine Banger (Malibu rum, Galliano and pineapple juice) and the Al-oha (raspberry, guava and Stoli). There's live music on Fridays and Saturdays, drawing from various island cultures. Weekend brunches entice families with kids.
