It has another name now - Tatami
by Memocast at Citysearch
After Todai became Tatami it has now better selection of foods, but, overall you will not see much changed.
The place is very nice and priced fairly. There is plenty of parking on the plaza and you would normally not have to wait in line to get in.
In my opinion that is the best Japanese buffet around of that size.
This enormous Japanese buffet attracts a diverse crowd for all-you-can-eat sushi and tempura.

In Short
The first Todai Restaurant debuted in 1985 in Santa Monica, Calif., and has since opened in locations across the U.S. and in Hong Kong. The restaurant, with seating for up to 500 people, features a 160-foot seafood buffet offering more than 40 kinds of sushi, all made fresh. The salad selection ranges from Caesar to seaweed to red potato salad. Hot entrees include sukiyaki, teriyaki chicken, sweet-and-sour pork and udon noodles.
Not worth the money
by brandon1111 at Citysearch
We took our mom to Todai for Mother's Day, it was so disappointed. Their sashimi and sushi are not as good as before. The king crab legs were still freezing cold, and the butter tasted bad. This place was best for the price when it first opened. Now it's totally not worth 25.99. I felt being ripped off. For the price of 5 of us, we could have mush better sushi somewhere else.
- Pros: Variety of foods
- Cons: Not fresh and feel like eating from freezer
