Great hotel BUT..
by GeorgeEvelyn1978 at Citysearch
It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at goo.gl/FPxYD They have some of the best hotel deals on the web!
Come have a look, but don't waste the money or the calories on Citrus.

I brought a friend here for a more quiet Santana Row experience. I love the decor and ambiance of this restuarant (and hotel). Dim lights, chic yet warm architecture and furnishings. But the food was awful. She and I agreed that the mashed potatoes must have come from a box. My horseradish-crusted sea bass had NO flavor (prior to ordering I had asked the waiter which dish had more flavor, the sea bass or their halibut). Also, the sea bass had a grizzly oily taste to it. Same with my friend's salmon stuffed with crab - the special of the night. She was thankful that I asked for some lemon wedges for both my food and my drink - a caipirinha that could peel wallpaper off the walls. We decided to forego dessert and stop before anyone got sick.

The restaurant is fairly small which makes for a very nice, romantic atmosphere. The bread that the server brings out with water is AWESOME. My wife and I each had an appetizer...she had the Lobster Bisque (not recommended) and I had the Caesar Salad (just ok, save yourself the money and eat more bread). We both ordered the Filet Mignon and it was very good. Not GREAT, but very good. The mashed potatoes and asparagus that came with the steak were both AWESOME. In addition, the service was excellent. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant highly because it's a great combination of food, atmosphere, and service.

Adventurous spice rubs add zest to traditional surf and turf at this candlelit hotel eatery.

The Scene
Pale yellow walls and dim lighting create a romantic atmosphere in the cozy dining room. Couples sit under a warm terra-cotta ceiling at dark wooden tables, some of which are surrounded by translucent drapes that can be drawn for privacy. Service is friendly and knowledgeable, even when the restaurant is short-staffed.
The Food
Start off with the tender flaming sausage with Napa Valley mustard appetizer, drenched in grappa and lightly accented with garlic. With meat and seafood entrees, diners can choose from among seven innovative spice rubs. Combos like coffee-and-red cinnamon clove add an unusual twist to traditional fare. The juicy filet mignon becomes exceedingly tender when seasoned with the Texas sweet chipotle rub and drizzled with rich butter sauce. Seared ahi tuna packs a zing when paired with fiery lemon-chili pepper mix. Save room for orange cheesecake, which evokes the taste of a Creamsicle on a fork.
A Gem!

Wow, I didn't know you were there but am so glad I found you. Citysearch came through. I knew about V-bar but never realized there was such a great Steakhouse right next door and within the Valencia Hotel. I brought my wife in for a try and was really impressed. The meal was cooked perfectly and my waiter was awesome. It was a night to remember and thanks so much for being there....plus V-bar is right next door!!!!!
