I was very week when I joined US Fitness Pros. Now it has been 4 months since I joined. Before starting any workout trainer said I need to increase my weight so we started working out on my weight. After 1 month I was able to increase my weight by 14 pounds. Then he started giving me weights to lift and now I am able to lift heavy weights which I thought I won?t be able to. All the credit goes to my Trainer who helped me in building myself

After my kidney transplant I had a lot of concerns about how to get back in shape. I had been on dialysis for years and had even developed a hernia. I didn't know how to get back in shape without hurting myself. My trainer Kelly was amazing. She began a complete program for me in January and I have seen great changes already. Not only have I lost 30 pounds, but my core is much stronger. She is firm yet cautious. She constantly sends me messages of encouragement. I have had trainers in the past, but never one as complete as Kelly. I believe she thinks carefully about my exercise plan for each week, and truely wants me to succeed. I have sent my sister and husband to her, and they are now referring their friends. We all just love Kelly and US Fitness Pros.

  • Pros: excellent trainer who works well with everyone
  • Cons: can be busy at peak times

It is apparent that many reviews with malicious intent are being posted to tarnish US Fitness Pros outstanding reputation. These reviews originated shortly after US Fitness Pros dismissed an employee who failed to uphold the highest standards of professionalism that US Fitness Pros expects from its personal trainers. Based on the timing and consistent attacks, we suspect that these reviews are in connection with that event and originate from a limited source. These erroneous reviews are unfair to consumers who are looking for accurate reviews to base their decisions.

I encourage prospective clients to read the reviews prior to March 2009 to get an accurate account of our client testimonials. Under no circumstances would US Fitness Pros consider "stuffing the review box" with positive reviews. We have too many satisfied clients who are more than willing to share their training experiences with consumers. US Fitness Pros is happy to provide a list of direct references of these satisfied customers to anyone who requests.

US Fitness Pros is a properly certified and insured corporation with all the credentials required to operate a personal training facility. All of our trainers have national certifications from reputable organizations or formal education in health related fields from top Universities.

US Fitness Pros has also adopted their own unique style of training that meets the demands of a changing industry. This ensures the client a system that encompasses the latest in health and fitness technologies to guarantee safe and effective workouts. It is our desire to create workouts that are fully customized and unique to every client, based on their individual goals.

We appreciate your pursuit to find the best personal training experience and we welcome the opportunity to help you achieve your ultimate fitness goals.

  • Pros: Experienced and educated personal trainers

I did some research on this company and it seems as though the trainers there are padding their certifications in order to seem more legitimate. The owner, Rich, claims to be certified by ISSA (International Sports Sciences Association) and NCEP (National College of Exercise Professionals) which he is not certified and has not been certified through them since 2005. Shane claims to be ISSA certified which he is not and ISSA has never heard of him, meaning he has never held a certification through them. Shane also claims to be certified through NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) and is not, nor has he ever been certified through them. Shane also claims to be a massage therapist, but does not disclose who he is certified through and I would bet he is not a certified massage therapist either. Lisa claims to be certified through ISSA but has not been current since 2006. Neither Rich nor Shane have legitimate certifications and for over three years have been claiming on US Fitness Pros website that they are certified. It took me two minutes to verify this information and the owner must think the public is naive. This seems unethical to me to knowingly misrepresent your credentials and I would hesitate on letting someone train me who is not qualified to do so. Surely they will take this information off their site as it is misleading to the public and not fair to the trainers who actually keep up on their continuing education. These are not false accusations; you can call ISSA, NCEP or NASM and ask for yourself.

  • Cons: Too small, not enough equipment.

Do you notice that every time someone posts a negative post or criticizes the company that within hours or days very positive reviews appear? Take a look at the history and you will see the pattern, as reviews have only been active after a negative post. Seems like someone is stuffing the review box....

Coming to US Fitness Professionals put my health back on track after a four month span of illness. I had lost a lot of muscle and confidence in my body during my illness and was hesitant to start a strength training routine. But I knew I had to reconnect with my body and get stronger. I am glad that I chose personal training here! I was a tough case given my recent background and hesitancy, but Rich started out exactly where I needed to start and gradually increased the demands on my body. He showed his very professional expertise in handling my situation so well. I am proud to say that I gained better strength than ever before and a better confidence in my body again. Due to some scheduling conflicts I chose to train with Kelly after several months who also addressed my needs well and I continued to improve under her excellent training. I have no hesitation with recommending this business to everyone - in fact, I do!

  • Pros: Excellent expertise that works!

I’ve been training with Kelly for some time and she is great. I stopped seeing her as money is tight and I’m trying to watch my spending. When I didn’t resign the owner pretty much interrogated me as to why and it just rubbed me wrong. He said I could train with other people there and he really pressured me to resign, but his approach put me on the spot and just made the entire situation weird. I would train with Kelly again, but I’m not so sure if I would train there.

  • Pros: Good Trainer
  • Cons: Pushy sales tactics

I have always battled with my weight and I actually lost some on my own. I thought I had dieting and losing weight all figured out until I reached a plateau that I couldn?t escape. After a year of my weight not really going anywhere, I decided it was time to get some extra help. I joined US Fitness Pros at the beginning of January and it has been the best experience! I started training with Lisa twice a week and now I train with her three times a week. Before we even began our training sessions though, Lisa did a pretty in-depth assessment, which included measurements, goal setting, balance, and more. I was impressed from the start. She took the time to show me how to properly stretch before I work out so that I will be warmed up and won?t injure myself. Lisa also created two different nutritional meal plans for me to follow. My training sessions are different each time and they are personalized for me based on my strengths and weaknesses. I always look forward to going because no matter what kind of day I?ve had, I?ve always left feeling energized. I love that it is a small intimate space because it?s not intimidating at all. The other trainers are all friendly and greet me each time I am there. Since I started training with Lisa, I?ve lost weight, inches, gained energy, strength, and I?m more active than I?ve ever been. Eating healthy and working out has become a lifestyle change for me thanks to Lisa!

I have been working out with Rich twice a week for the last year and the results have been fantastic. I thought for years that I could "do this on my own" but failed to make the commitment and kept getting further out of shape. I finally admitted that I could use some professional help and did a full scan of the personal trainers in my area and selected Rich. I couldn't be more pleased. I have lost 40 lbs and re-gained the energy and confidence of my 20s. Rich devised a meal plan and a stretching, foam rolling and workout plan that fit me and provided results. He also has good contacts with other excellent health related businesses that I have used at various times. I also appreciate Rich's flexibility in working with my schedule. I would recommend US Fitness Pros to anyone ready to change their life.

  • Pros: Great atmosphere
  • Cons: showers would make it easier sometimes

I've been training at USFP for over a year now with Lisa. A friend and I signed up for training sessions together, and I have to say, it's been the best workout experience I've ever had. The trainers at USFP are top notch, the management holds them to high standards, and it shows with the caliber of training that individuals receive. The workouts are highly customized to address areas of weakness or concern and incredibly diverse and challenging - so you are never bored, and the environment is very positive.

As a person who has found my motivation for workout lacking in the past, I am continually amazed at how Lisa keeps me excited, energized and progressing toward new goals. I've tried gyms and other programs, but this has been the best experience, with the best results, that I've ever had.

  • Pros: High caliber trainers, customized approach
  • Cons: none

I am reposting this, as for some reason US Fitness Pros was able to get my review removed. I only state the facts here and others need to be aware of the business practices here. I can?t recommend the business in good faith, but Matt and Stacia were great trainers to work with. I spent about 18 months with Matt and my wife worked with both Matt and Stacia for a year and change. In recent months there has been high turnover in the staff for various reasons and the remaining trainers were not for me. The owner?s way of trying to keep me was to call me and tell me that my trainer was no longer with him and proceeded to perform character assassination on the very trainers that made me come work out there in the first place. Furthermore, he refused to refund the money for the remaining sessions and ultimately I had to do a dispute on my credit card to get the money back. I think the trainers do good work there; I just can?t recommend US Fitness Pros due to their business practices.

Response from this business

usfitnessprosMarch 07, 2009 at 10:52:19 PST

I am happy that we were able to serve you well for 18 months and you were able to establish a great friendship with your trainer. I am very sorry that you were not happy with how you perceived this situation to be handled. It is my desire to run a business that is professional and upholds ethical business practices so that each client can be best served. It is this desire that guides the policies of the business, the decisions made for the company, and the contracts on which the business runs. I am sorry that you are frustrated with the fact that it is standard practice within the fitness industry to have non-refundable rates for dues and training packages purchased but we do strive to make this policy clear in the training contract signed by each client so that it does not come as a surprise in the end. We wish you the best in the future.
