I am a senior escrow officer. In the course of my work I see dozens of loan packages a month and hundreds each year. I see with my own eyes all the different loan programs and how much mortgage loan officers make and what they do to their clients - at times it is appalling, In short I see most of Brian Wendt's loan packages since we have a corporate agreement with First City offering discounted escrow/title fee's to their clients. I SEE WHAT THEY MAKE!! Over and over again I see that Brian's loans are far better loans than other mortgage agents offer AND his compensation is definitely on the low end. He works on volume. He is fair, honest, hard working and really does have the client’s best interest first. In fact I do my own personal refinances thru him, on more than one occasion too. I recommend him to all my friends and relatives and Realtors looking for the "best" mortgage loan officer as part of their team. Even though the mortgage market is tough for many people, Brian is still doing well - he KNOWS his business.
Pros: Honest, fair, great rates so you can be confident you're getting the best program / rate
Cons: Well as others said, he IS popular and initially tough to get a hold of, but he performs

I saw another review on here for an agent named Brian Wendt. the review was a bit old (9/06) but I thought why not call,he is local and the review was good. I'm glad I did. They guy knows his stuff, had great rates, I went to his office and actually met the guy. He IS busy because he is that good. Like he said, "I worked on volume, so I don't have time to go back and forth, here is my deal" He was right he it was as low as I found anywhere on the net and he was LOCAL and non-nonsense and the best part is it closed on time at the rate he promised. Pros: Local, smart, great rates no nonsense style - it is what it is and that is great rates
Cons: like the other review said he IS busy, but keep trying- his rates are that good!!

I am a shpper of shoppers. I needed a mortgage recently and after what seemed like over a few dozen calls and referals from people I found First City Bancorp. Glad I did. I dragged a seasoned agent over the coals- his name was Brian Wendt -and he took it like a champ. Great follow-up and this guy REALLY has the sources for mortgages. He had the best rate and it was what he said it was going to be. NO B.S.- just old fashioned service and performance. I will go no other place from now on. Like a trusted doctor or mechanic a skilled mortgage agent is a MUST
Pros: You KNOW you're getting the best programs at the best rates
Cons: Brian Wendt is BUSY so sometimes he's hard to get a hold of - but he's worth it
