I stopped going to the Blue Chalk
by xicanista
The men that go to Blue Chalk are so rude. They literally push women out of the way as they walk through the dance floor. Why so rude, people?
- Pros: Upstairs you can usually find some space to breathe
- Cons: the people that go there
Fun place with good food!

Great atmosphere, food and service. Awesome music with DJ on the weekends. If you are in the Palo Alto area, you have to drop by this place and experience for yourself.
- Pros: Great service
- Cons: always busy
Awesome Happy Hour
by jaqandchris
Blue Chalk has it going on. We started the night around 7 thinking Happy Hour was over, but someone told us Blue Chalk has a Happy Hour that last until 9pm. AMAZING! The music was good and as the night continued a live DJ lit it up. As did we on the dance floor!
- Pros: Cheap drinks, tasty appetizers, and good crowd
- Cons: Drinks were so good we spent a lot of money
worst pace ever
by debutante1
My friend had her birthday party there, and the service was horrible. The waiters would take our plates when we weren't even finished eating half of our meals, the alcohol was like water, and the food tasted overcooked and presentation was obviously lacking... The staff was highly unreasonable, very hostile, and rude. I would never recommend the blue chalk to anyone.
- Cons: rude staff, bad food, expensive
Totally Awesome!!

Great crowd, great music, and only 5 bucks to get in! This place is awesome and their website doesn't do them justice. I went to this place because it was recommended by a friend. I decided to visit their web site first to see what kind of scene it was and was like, this looks hella lame. But once I got their I was greeted by so many different people, friendly bouncers, and great hip hop. The drinks are good too!
- Pros: Diversity, Drinks, Music
- Cons: Small Bathrooms, Ran out of TP, Ran out of towels
Fun spot

This was a fun party spot for a Friday night. Cover was only $5 after 10pm, and the crowd was a bunch of very friendly Stanford students. Drinks were well-mixed, bar tenders were very friendly. Music was AWESOME! Dance floor was packed.
- Pros: music, bartenders
- Cons: v crowded arnd bar, only two bthrm stalls
Popular college pool hall is better known for its lively and loud atmosphere than its Cajun-style cuisine.

In Short
Located across from City Hall, the joint packs in twenty-somethings for crowded games of pool and specialty cocktails. The U-shaped balcony upstairs sports most of the action--a jukebox, darts and a full bar. Downstairs, a fireplace warms diners as they munch on Cajun appetizers like doughy hush puppies dipped in a honey-vinegar sauce. Desserts are popular--the warm peach cobbler drips with thick caramel and is served with vanilla ice cream in an oversized coffee mug.
Surprise! Surprise!

Never been there before!! Will definitely go back!! The menu was creative with a couple of fish entrees that looked absolutely delicious. I had the salmon in a jack daniels apricot bbq sauce. Fresh and superb! After dinner had a couple of drinks and shot a few games of pool. Bar filled up fast with 25-30ish professionals. Good time!
- Pros: Food, Games, Bar
- Cons: Parking, Crowded
